Abstract Potentially explosive atmosphere can occur not only in the production systems of food, energy, chemical and petrochemical industries but also processes mining industry. Gases, vapours, mists dusts arise escape an uncontrolled way during production, processing, transportation storage flammable substances. In combination with oxygen, they create atmospheres that, if ignited, lead to explosion causing catastrophic damage people's lives property. To protect against results hazardous dust–gas mixtures explosions a confined work space, where employees stay, various control protection mechanisms are used form active explosion-proof system. The article presents tests on system for limiting effects ignition gas and/or dust based highly efficient suppression system—equipped detection system, high-pressure fire extinguisher power supply trigger Smokeless powder was as charge sodium bicarbonate suppressive material. Tests effectiveness were carried out two devices: small-size dry collector zone extinguishing adapted direct closed working spaces. both cases, process took place through action blown after membrane perforation by compressed combustion products.
